Labor Floorchecks

Purpose - Requirements

  • Verifies the existence of employees
  • Evaluates the contractor’s internal controls over timekeeping
  • Reviews the accuracy of labor charges through the labor distribution by contract
  • At small contractors- floorchecks are usually done annually, but as the contractor grows the floorchecks maybe done on a quarterly basis (using a risk-based approach)

What DCAA is Finding

  • Lack of or inadequate timekeeping policies/procedures
  • Employees not recording their time daily
  • Employees not recording all time by job code
  • Supervisor or someone else completing time sheets
  • Employees unaware of DoD Hotline
